Avocado Fat
![]() |
Not all fats are created equal. Avocadoes contain Oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat which, for simplicity sake, is considered a “good fat.” Fats are classified as “good” or “bad” according to how they affect your cholesterol levels. In a seven day study that included avocadoes, participants were able to reduce their total cholesterol and LDL (bad) cholesterol and raise their HDL (good) cholesterol by 11%. Low LDL levels and high HDL levels are important for cardiovascular health and to reduce your chances for heart disease and stroke. Avocadoes are also high in potassium and folate, a mineral and nutrient that aids in blood pressure control and heart health. If this scientific jargon has put you to sleep, just remember one thing, eating avocadoes is good for your heart health.
Got something to say?
